I did a forum search for photography and all I got was people's screen shot galleries, etc. So if this is a previously mentioned idea, I apologize in advance. Anyway, the thought is that (similar to collecting gold items and cartography and such) there could be an accomplishment for photography. One would have to take screenshots of predetermined places in the game, like capitols, or statues, or landmarks, and if one takes enough screenshots of the applicable places, then they can get 'Tyrian Master Photographer', or 'Blackroom Geek' or something as an accomplishment title.

That was a great feature.
Players takes pictures of special areas, and the pictures appeard with and added texture.

In this game hititng Print Screen in the 'special' are, would only grant you a point in that title?

People would just go all over the place hitting [PtrSc]. Just like Cartographer, but even slower, as you have to take pictures in all possible angles.

And once they get discovered and uploaded to GildWiki, people would just go there and take the shot.

The idea is good, but do not fit here.

That is a good point. Perhaps it would have to be screenshots of bosses, or difficult to get to places, so that everyone and their dog wouldn't be able to go around collecting them at their leisure.
P.S. I have never played Metal Gear Solid, and for that, I am sad...

Ok maybe you played too much GTA then? Tbh I don't like the idea and don't believe it would work too well once the locations were released, and it just devalues the Kind Of A Big Deal track even mroe.

I like the idea... but... Its just not feasable, and if it is, Then its would be VERY complicated.

Might as well just go and Press "Use" on pre determined spots, Screenshotting is just... not.. feasable. too many variables, That game can not recognize what you have taken in as a screenshot.

First of all, it's a pointless title that has nothing to do with playing the game, just like the luck titles (but they make money go away ^^ so Anet likes those). Second, is it hard to implement a feature that can detect whether you took a screenshot of something.

If you want fame and fortune for taking awesome pics, GWG has an impressive screenshot exposition.

I think the idea's pretty interesting, just difficult to pull off. The difficulty lies in deciding when a shot is acceptable for a title and when it is not. And how do you show on the title bar exactly what other shots are needed? Also, going around and taking shots is basically what the exploration title track is already doing. People already took nice shots when they reach remote corners. This will drive up resentment because this title would then force people to go through the exploration grind again, since the game obviously doesn't currently remember who has taken what shot.

I like the idea. Im just not sure how it would work. How would the software know whether you have took a photo of a certain location?

It could see WHERE you were when you took it, but I dont see a way for it to know exactly what was in the screen capture.

However....

Perhaps have stereotypical japanese blokes standing in the game as NPCs with cameras around their necks and bright coloured shirts with flowers on.

When you find one, you speak to them and ask them to take a photo of you.

When you accept, it causes a movie to start where it pans around to see you (and your team), doing a silly face(s), through the lense of his camera and it causes a screen cap.

Maybe even have bosses jump into shot when they see you doing it, and do v-signs behind your head!

Actually thats not that bad an idea :P

Seriously though. I cant see how it would work otherwise. Plus it sounds too similar to the existing exploration title because your basically uncovering locations.

one could imagine it might be a simple projection on a 2d canvas of the 3d world from the direction the person was standing when the "photo" was taken.
playing with numbers does many things indeed!

although it reminds me of prince of persia art unlocks. man that would be so awesome to have in gw.

Well I have Glith Trophies with the head of the dragon by my feet.

Some sho could be easy, like the Map of Tyria post in Ascalon.
And some very hard. Like Glinth eggs or Rotscale portal.

That would still reduce the photography title to either the same as the exploration one, in trying to find locations around the map.

Or the same as protector in trying to take photos inside missions, something which perhaps cant be done without the bonus.

I think it would be cool if they just had some facility to take snap shots purely for fun, but not to record it.

Would be a lag demon, but they could be highly limited and very low in size...

Nice idea, but I don't think it fits into the game. As others said above, it sounds like the exploration title with the "prt scr" option in play.
